An Iran Air Airbus A300-600, registration EP-IBD performing flight IR-712 from Stockholm (Sweden) to Tehran Imam Khomeini (Iran) via a fuel stop in Prague (Czech Republic), was enroute at FL330 about 40nm eastnortheast of Vienna (Austria) in Slovak Airspace, when the crew decided to divert to Vienna due to the failure of the #2 integrated drive electrical generator (IDG) and problems with the APU. The aircraft landed safely on Vienna’s runway 34 about 25 minutes later.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 3 hours, then continued the flight on left IDG and APU, but needed to divert again to Istanbul (Turkey), see Incident: Same Iran Air A300B4-605R has APU failure on same flight.
