Bombardier Inc. announced Wednesday that WestJet Encore has converted its remaining options into firm orders to beef up the Calgary company’s fleet of 45 Q400s.
Bombardier says the cost of the transaction — nine new planes — is about $293 million. The aircraft are assembled in Toronto.
Including this order, 17 planes are still to be delivered to WestJet.
The Q400 is the latest in the range of Q series aircraft. It is available in several configurations, including one with a seating capacity of 90.
