CALGARY, March 14, 2016 /CNW/ – WestJet announced today that it will introduce seasonal non-stop service to Halifax from Vancouver and Winnipeg beginning June 29, 2016.
“WestJet is the only airline in Canada offering non-stop flights to Halifax from Vancouver and Winnipeg. We are introducing these routes on a seasonal basis to allow WestJet the opportunity to test the market while providing our guests more choice and convenience along with our low-fare, high-care service,” said Lee Lipton, WestJet Director, Network and Schedule Planning. “We are well positioned for success with the high travel demand during the summer season. We continue to look for opportunities to better serve our guests as market demand permits.”
With the addition of these new routes, WestJet now offers 23 daily flights on 13 routes from Halifax Stanfield International Airport, 28 daily flights on 13 routes from Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport and 65 daily flights on 29 routes from Vancouver International Airport.
Flights will be operated on WestJet’s Boeing 737 aircraft featuring the recently enhanced Plus product and WestJet Connect. Flights from Vancouver to Halifax begin June 29, 2016 and will operate four times weekly until September 3, 2016. Flights from Winnipeg to Halifax begin July 2, 2016 and will operate four times weekly until September 6, 2016. Flights have been timed to connect conveniently to WestJet’s Halifax and Vancouver hubs from its extensive domestic network.
WestJet
