Very few pieces of luggage can turn heads, but this new leather set from carmaker Rolls-Royce will have people stopping you to ask about it from the minute you pull it from the trunk of your new Dawn convertible.
Look at it.
The new collection features carbon-fiber frames, hand-stitched leather (it is Rolls-Royce, after all), and innovative magnetic fastenings. There are six pieces in the set—two valises, three weekender bags, and one garment bag—each designed with input from “head butlers” at world hotels. Because, let’s be honest, most of the time you won’t be the one carrying these.
The idea was to capture the lifestyle of international travelers who rarely interact directly with their own luggage. Kind of counterintuitive, no? Anyway, the handles are engineered to balance weight distribution perfectly across the bag, and then finished with an invisible stitch—the same used in haute couture gowns—for a smooth feel along the top, regardless of who is lugging it around. The Spirit of Ecstasy is embossed on each piece, and the Grand Tourer bag has self-righting wheels with the the Rolls-Royce double-R emblem on them. And you can customize each bag to match the inside of your Wraith.
You do have a Wraith, don’t you?
The whole set costs $46,000, available for order at any Rolls-Royce dealership. Of course, you can buy each bag separately, too. But with the kind of summer you’ve got planned, you’re going to need more than one.
