GLO (Pronunciation: /ɡlō/) is proud to formally announce its takeoff today. The New Orleans-owned and -based startup public charter operator will offer a quality alternative to business and leisure travelers who have been relegated to multi-stop flights and exhausting road travel due to an absence of daily air service to multiple Gulf and Mid-South destinations.
GLO’s public charter flights, operated by Corporate Flight Management, Inc. (CFM), will introduce daily, non-stop service from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). GLO will begin round-trip air service in November to Little Rock’s Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport (LIT), Memphis International Airport (MEM) and Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV). In anticipation of its launch in New Orleans, GLO will offer promotional one-way $189 GLO Saver fares (tax included).
Due to GLO’s economical fare structure, travelers will realize a cost-effective alternative to driving to destinations served by GLO. Business travelers will see an exponential increase in productivity, and can enjoy face-to-face meetings with customers and partners who until now were in destinations too far to drive and visit with regularity. In addition, GLO’s leisure travelers will be able to enjoy more of their time visiting their destinations due to the dramatic reduction in travel time.
GLO will offer daily non-stop, round-trip service from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) to each destination.
“It’s time we restored non-stop air service to Gulf and Mid-South cities that should be easily connected for both business and leisure travelers—and GLO is proud to provide that service,” said Trey Fayard, Founder and CEO of GLO. “GLO was born out of the recognition that travel options in the South are incredibly limited by existing air carriers. Too often, both business and leisure travelers are forced into multi-stop flights or overreliance on road travel, often resulting in wasted time and productivity.
“We’re proud to bring a new travel option that couples the time efficiency that comes from flying with the comfort and seamlessness that comes from a first-rate operation. Starting with three daily routes, we look forward to offering a more efficient, productive and comfortable travel experience between New Orleans and Memphis, Shreveport and Little Rock.”
“GLO’s announcement today is evident of the opportunities that abound within our great city,” said New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu. “This New Orleans-based operation is creating more job opportunities and better connectivity within our region that will further benefit our community.”
“We have coordinated with GLO for several years as they have developed their product, and we are very excited to be a part of their announcement today,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, Airport Director of Aviation. “GLO will be our 15th air service provider and will bring our total number of nonstop destinations to 49, another record high for Armstrong International.”
CFM will operate 30-passenger Saab 340B aircraft on GLO’s new routes. According to the Saab Group, “The Saab 340B is a favorite among aircraft passengers, offering flexibility, comfort and reliability, while operators also value it for its cost-effective performance capabilities.”
On-board service from a flight attendant will include complimentary snacks and beverages from the regions GLO will service.
