SEATTLE, Oct. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Boeing [NYSE:BA] today announced EVA Airways’ intent to purchase up to 24 787-10 Dreamliners and two additional 777-300ER (Extended Range) jetliners, which is valued at more than $8 billion at current list prices. EVA Airways will join the 787-10 launch customer team and will be one of the first airlines in the world to introduce the newest member of the 787 Dreamliner family.
Once the deal is finalized, it will be posted on the Boeing Orders and Deliveries website.

EVA Airways continues to modernize its long-haul fleet to replace aging aircraft and these new airplanes will allow the airline to expand into new markets, particularly in Southeast Asia, Oceania and North America.
The airline currently operates more than 37 Boeing airplanes in its fleet, including 21 777-300ERs. The 777-300ER is the backbone of EVA Airways’ growing fleet and the carrier is the world’s 8th largest 777-300ER operator and 4th largest in Asia.
With its intent to purchase two additional 777-300ERs as part of this deal, EVA Airways will have unfilled orders for 15 777-300ERs and five 777 Freighters, as well as 24 787-10s – both direct purchased and leased.
The 787-10 will be the third and longest member of the super-efficient 787 family. With its greater passenger and cargo capacity, robust range and passenger-pleasing features, the 787-10 will complement EVA’s Boeing widebody fleet while setting a new benchmark for fuel efficiency and operating economics. The 787-10 will be 25 percent better in fuel and emissions than the airplanes it replaces and more than 10 percent better than anything offered by the competition for the future.

American Airlines during the Christmas and New Year period plans to operate Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on Los Angeles – Miami, with 1 daily operation. The 777-300ER will operate from 17DEC15 to 04JAN16.
During this period AA operates 8 daily flights, including 2 A321, 3 767-300ER, 1 each of 777-200ER/-300ER/737-800.

Air China debuts Beijing/Pekin – Montreal service
MONTREAL–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Dignitaries and top government officials led by the Chinese ambassador to Canada, His Excellency Luo Zhaohui and Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre welcomed the arrival of Air China’s inaugural flight, CA 879, from Beijing today. Quebec’s Minister of Trade and Commerce and his delegation returned to Montreal from their trade mission on board the first Beijing-Montreal flight. Minister Jacques Daoust also spoke at the press conference.
Operated by Air China’s new-generation B777-300ER, the new thrice weekly nonstop service connects Montreal not only to Beijing but also to the rest of Asia.
Today’s elaborate welcome ceremonies at the Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) showed the importance of this new service. It is expected to boost the local economy and tourism industry in the region. According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization, the total number of trips abroad from China is estimated to have increased by 11 million to 109 million in 2014. China is the largest outbound market since 2012 with a total expenditure of US$ 129 billion in 2013.

Montreal is the newest in a string of expansions in North America by China’s national carrier. However, it’s only the airline’s second gateway in Canada and the first in more than 20 years after Air China launched its Vancouver service.
