A Saudi Arabian Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration HZ-ASV performing flight SV-1734 from Bisha to Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), was on approach to Riyadh when the captain suffered a heart attack and became incapacitated. The first officer assumed command of the aircraft, queried via cabin crew whether any medical staff was on board with no response, and continued for a safe landing on Riyadh’s runway 33L. Medical services attempted to provide assistance after landing but could resuscitate the captain, who was pronounced dead.
