Passengers gain unauthorized access for American Airlines Philadelphia-Boston flight

October 23, 2016 By bernard.montrel@gmail.com

Two people gained unauthorized access to an American Airlines flight Sunday morning, delaying a flight from Philadelphia to Boston by three hours, the airline said.
American Airlines grounded Flight 1655 after the passengers somehow opened a secure door and entered the plane.
“Two passengers gained unauthorized access to one of our aircrafts earlier this morning,” the airline said in a statement to Action News in Philadelphia.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we are utilizing a different aircraft for the flight to Boston. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.”
The airline added that foul play is not suspected, and the entry appears to have been an accident. It is unclear what happened to the two passengers.
The flight was scheduled to leave from Philadelphia International Airport at 8 a.m. Instead, passengers took off on a different plane around 11 a.m.
The Philadelphia airport could not immediately be reached.
