N915DN of Delta Air Lines suffers bird strike during approach into Tampa

A Delta Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-90, registration N915DN performing flight DL-2264 from Minneapolis,MN to Tampa,FL (USA), was on approach to Tampa’s runway 01R when a bird impacted the nose of the aircraft. The aircraft continued for a safe landing.
The FAA reported the bird strike caused a large hole in the nose cone.
The aircraft returned to service about 19.5 hours after landing.
