Emirates to offer 10 daily flights to London

Emirates has revealed plans to launch its 10th daily flight to London.
Commencing on 1 October 2016, the new service will become Emirates’ fourth daily service between Dubai and London’s Gatwick Airport. The airline also operates six daily flights to Heathrow.
The new Dubai-Gatwick service will be operated using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with eight seats in first class, 42 in business class and 310 in economy. Passengers will be offered between 30kg and 50kg of baggage allowance, depending on the cabin class.
“Emirates started serving London Gatwick in July 1987; since then over 10 million passengers have travelled on the route,” commented Hubert Frach, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president of commercial operations. “With British expats forming the largest western community in Dubai, it’s not surprising to witness continued strong demand for travel between Dubai and the five cities we currently serve in the UK.”
Gatwick Airport’s CEO, Stewart Wingate, said he was “delighted” with Emirates’ decision.
“The new service follows the strong performance of Emirates’ Dubai routes from Gatwick, with increasing demand from both business and leisure passengers,” said Wingate. “This fourth daily service to Dubai complements Gatwick’s growing network of long-haul connections with over 50 global destinations flown to this year alone.”
The new flight, EK023, will depart Dubai daily at 0950, arriving at Gatwick Airport at 1430. The return flight, EK024, will leave London at 1650 and arrive back in Dubai at 0240 the next day. Emirates said these times would enable “seamless connectivity” to several destinations in the Far East.
