Condor to start serving New-Orleans from Frankfurt

Germany’s Condor Airlines will offer seasonal service between Frankfurt and New Orleans in 2017.
The flights, which will be offered on Wednesdays and Sundays from May 3 through Sept. 27, will be the first since the 1980s between the Crescent City and Europe, according to New Orleans’ Louis Armstrong Airport.
New Orleans mayor Mitch Landrieu said that the city is “ecstatic.”
“Traveling from Europe to New Orleans and likewise from New Orleans to abroad will be much more convenient and efficient,” he said. “This is a significant milestone and we look forward to welcoming the world for our tricentennial in 2018.”
Condor, a leisure travel-focused carrier owned by Thomas Cook Group, also announced three other seasonal U.S. routes for summer 2017.
The carrier will fly from Frankfurt to San Diego on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays beginning on May 1. It will fly from Munich to Las Vegas on Wednesdays and Sundays beginning May 2. And it will fly from Munich to Seattle on Wednesdays and Sundays beginning July 5.
