A Bulgarian Air Charter McDonnell Douglas MD-82, registration LZ-LDJ performing flight 1T-1113 from Varna (Bulgaria) to Muenster (Germany), was climbing through FL310 out of Varna when the crew needed to shut the right hand engine (JT8D) down and returned to Varna for a safe landing about 70 minutes after departure.
A replacement MD-82 registration LZ-LDU reached Muenster with a delay of 2.5 hours.
