Brussels Airlines Airbus A319 suffers bird strike on final approach at Toulouse

July 11, 2016 By bernard.montrel@gmail.com

A Brussels Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration OO-SSW performing flight SN-3669 from Brussels (Belgium) to Toulouse (France), was on final approach to Toulouse’s runway 32L when the crew initiated a go-around from about 1000 feet MSL due to a bird strike onto the nose gear. The aircraft climbed to 5000 feet and entered a hold while the crew worked the checklists, then commenced another approach and landed safely on Toulouse’s runway 32L about 25 minutes after the go-around.
The aircraft was unable to depart for the return flight, the return flight SN-3670 was cancelled.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 17 hours, then positioned back to Brussels as flight SN-9970, but has not yet resumed service about 30 hours after landing in Toulouse.
