A Regent Airways Boeing 737-700, registration S2-AHC performing flight RX-784 from Dhaka (Bangladesh) to Singapore (Singapore) with 110 passengers and 6 crew, was accelerating for takeoff when a fire developed on the left main gear prompting the crew to reject takeoff at high speed. The aircraft came to a stop on the runway and was evacuated via slides. No injuries are being reported.
Bangladesh’s Civil Aviation Authority reported a tyre burst resulting in a gear fire prompting the crew to reject takeoff. All occupants evacuated the aircraft without injuries, the airport was closed for about 45 minutes as result of the incident.
A replacement Boeing 737-700 registration S2-AHD reached Singapore with a delay of 4 hours.
