Allegiant MD-83 diverts to Jacksonville Intl because of strange odour in cabin

An Allegiant McDonnell Douglas MD-83, registration N876GA performing flight G4-749 from South Bend,IN to Orlando Sanford,FL (USA) with 166 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL320 about 100nm northnorthwest of Jacksonville,FL (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Jacksonville reporting an electrical odour in the cabin. The aircraft landed safely in Jacksonville about 25 minutes later. The passengers disembarked normally.
The airline confirmed an electrical odour in the cabin, it was determined an evacuation was not necessary. A replacement aircraft took the passengers to Orlando.
A replacement MD-83 registration N417NV was dispatched to Jacksonville and delivered the passengers to Sanford Airport with a delay of 5:15 hours.
