An ANZ Air New Zealand Airbus A320-200, registration ZK-OJR performing flight NZ-410 from Wellington to Auckland (New Zealand), was enroute at FL330 about half way into the flight when lightning struck the aircraft. The aircraft continued to Auckland for a safe landing about 25 minutes later.
Passengers reported a big flash followed by a loud bang and the aircraft shaking when the lightning struck.
The airline confirmed the aircraft was struck by lightning and are built to withstand them.
The occurrence aircraft however is still on the ground about 26 hours after landing.
