An Air Horizont Boeing 737-400 on behalf of Everjets, registration 9H-HUE performing charter flight EVJ-910 from Porto (Portugal) to Boa Vista (Cabo Verde), was enroute at FL310 about 170nm eastnortheast of Porto Santo, Madeira (Portugal) when the crew received indication of an engine (CFM56) problem and decided to divert to Porto Santo where the aircraft landed safely on runway 36 about 35 minutes later.
The airline reported the passengers were taken to hotels while the aircraft is being examined and continuation of flight is being organized.
A replacement Boeing 737-400 registration 9H-ZAZ was dispatched to Porto Santo and is currently on the ground in Porto Santo preparing to continue the flight.
