KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, the flag carrier airline of the Netherlands, said that on commencement of its 2017 summer schedule it will be adjusting its schedule for flights between Schiphol and four Gulf States, said a report.
KLM will also suspend direct service to Doha, Qatar, from March 26, 2017, added the Travel GSA report.
The Doha service has proven unprofitable since Qatar Airlines launched direct service to Schiphol in June 2015. Discontinuing service to Doha brings an end to KLM’s 33-year presence in Qatar, it said.
Passengers with reservations for flights after March 26, 2017, will be rebooked on the most appropriate alternative flight.
The airlines further noted that its flights to Dubai remain unchanged.
KLM serves six destinations in the Gulf States from Schiphol: Dubai and Abu Dhabi (UAE), Muscat (Oman), Dammam (Saudi Arabia), Manama (Bahrain) and Kuwait City (Kuwait). Flights are also offered via Paris to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
